I.Liv. has designed a practical Mindset Training Model to TEACH aggregated key concepts and leads us in the practice of HOW to actively work to train our mindset.
The Bottom Line – Mindset Training Model is a Key I.Liv. tool
Once we understand and accept that our mindset determines our direction in life, we stand to reap incredible gains. Our mindset becomes the greatest tool available at our disposal. A key determinator of our success in life.
I.Liv. has designed a practical Mindset Training Model that we will use to LEARN aggregated key concepts required to operate our mind on purpose and lead us in the PRACTICE to actively train our mind to work for us.
What is the I.Liv. Mindset Training Model?
The Mindset Training Model is a simple overview of the key elements of mindset training and their relationship. Key elements are introduced here and further explored in upcoming course sections:
Area in My Control at all times – This circle element denotes the area in our life that is under our control.
Some elements (Thoughts, Feelings and Actions) are complete under our own control.
Some elements (Life Circumstances and Results of our Actions) straddle the line indicating that they are only partially in our control.
Life Circumstances – this element represents all external circumstances, occurrences and demands we are faced with in our daily life directly or indirectly. Life circumstances straddle the line of the Area in My Control:
SOME Life Circumstances are within our control, a direct result of our choices and actions. (ex: I am a school graduate with a recognized qualification for the career I seek).
MOST Life Circumstances are NOT in our control (ex: my dream job has set qualifications and is highly competitive).
Thoughts – Key element for mindset training is our Thoughts or mental cognitions —our ideas, opinions, and beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. In the model, we recognize 2 different types of thinking:
Conscious Thoughts – Thoughts that we have awareness of. Although this is also where our control lies, conscious thinking is a very limited resource.
Default Subconscious Thoughts – The vast majority of our thinking effort goes on subconsciously, driven by our default mindset and defined patterns.
Emotions and Feelings – This key element that describes the physiological states (emotions) generated subconsciously (body responses to external or internal events) that are then interpreted by our conscious thoughts and reflections (feelings).
Actions – Key element that represents the things we do.
The Mindset Model features important links from mindset to emotions/feelings that are behind our actions. The SAME action with different thoughts and feelings behind it can bring very different outcomes.
Results / Outcomes – This element represents the results of the action we take.
Results straddle the line of the Area in My Control:
SOME results are within our control (ex: I am well prepared for my dream job opportunity).
MOST results are NOT in our control (ex: If I actually get the job that I have sought and prepared for).
Loopback – This key relationship in the Mindset Training model recognizes that the results of our actions today shape our reality tomorrow.
Why it matters?
Mastering the Mindset Training Model by learning each component and their relationship and then putting it into practical use as a foundational habit power us up with a key intentional living tool.
